THIS IS CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION AND ONLY FOR ADMINISTRATION
One item that the DOJ (Department of Justice) Settlement agreement is helping us create is Crisis Prevention Teams at all comprehensive schools. The definition of a Crisis Prevention Team is:
“Crisis Prevention Team” or “CPT” refers to the designated school staff in each building that are responsible for responding to behavior that has escalated (or is likely to escalate) to the degree that it poses a risk of substantial physical harm. The CPT teams receives specialized training in De-escalation Techniques and the safe use of Physical Restraint including CPI training.
The members of the Crisis Prevention Team will be the staff in buildings that will be required to have Nonviolent Crisis Training (NCI) and be the staff responsible for conducting restraints when a student’s behavior reasonably poses an immediate danger of substantial physical harm. In an attempt to do with (and not to), I would like to gather feedback on this item from principals.
Keeping the above in mind, please complete the Google form and submit it by May, 16th at the latest.
Thanks,

Message:
In consideration of the upcoming signed DOJ (Department of Justice) settlement agreement, we would like to offer an opportunity for ALL administration to be NCI trained this summer.
As you learned in the previous newsletter submission, one requirement is that every school has a Crisis Prevention Team. Principals and/or Assistant Principals will be members of this team.
This is an opportunity to receive your NCI training when school is not in session and with other administrators throughout the district.
Please sign up by May 25th to attend. If you are unsure of which training (initial or refresher) you will need to attend please contact Julie Valentine.
It is strongly recommended for administrators to take advantage of this opportunity.
If you have any questions please contact Melissa Zieammermann
